NHS England (NHSE) has issued new guidance saying trans patients should be cared for on single-sex wards and bays that match their biological sex, not their self-professed gender identity.
Where that is not “clinically appropriate”, the guidance says alternative arrangements should be made, and the dignity and safety of all patients should be maintained.
