Two people have died in what is understood to be a workplace incident at an industrial premises in Co Offaly.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident, which took place in Banagher at around 11.40 am this morning, Monday 28th of September.
Those who lost their lives have been described as a man in his 50s and a woman in her 20s, who were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims’ bodies are currently still at the scene of the incident, with post-mortem examinations to take place at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore in due course.
The Health and Safety Authority has launched an investigation into the incident.
