The revelation that Somalis constitute just under 9% of Dublin’s social housing list by Councillor Gavin Pepper has created waves, bringing renewed attention top the question of mass immigration’s impact on housing supply into the public.
A staggering 42% of non-Irish applicants now make up the 15,000-strong list, with the number of Somalis (1,320) at 8.8% in particular, followed by Romanians at 4%, Poles at 2.4% and Afghans at 2.2% respectively, attracting attention.
