Speakers at an event on gender identity policy in Irish schools used personal testimony to argue that the Department of Education’s Bí Cineálta anti-bullying policy and related classroom materials are exposing children to unproven medical claims, with what they say are devastating and irreversible consequences.
Former mental health nurse and mother Sam Poynter of Education Matters Advocacy Group said the aim of the event was “breaking the silence on gender in the school system” and told Gript she has been “writing letters for three years.”
