Belfast has found itself embroiled in a controversy over the Council’s decision to illuminate Belfast City Hall in green to celebrate ‘Safe Abortion Day’ on September 28th.
Such is the level of opposition on the ground to the move – voted for by Sinn Fein, the SDLP, the Green Party, PBP and Alliance – that 20,000 people have signed a petition opposing it – and one online poll by Belfast Live showed 98% opposed.
