In what must be the most tone deaf piece of political messaging of my lifetime – and there’s some stiff competition – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has today wished the people of Ceuta a “Happy Ceuta Day”, which is celebrated every year on September 2.
His greeting comes just over a month since the Sanchez government abandoned the people of the Spanish exclave to the thousands of illegal migrants that they’ve refused to kick off the territory.
