A former Georgian soldier who claimed that Chechen militants were trying to kidnap and kill him has lost a bid to block his deportation after the Court of Appeal found his account riddled with contradictions and lacking any solid proof of danger.
The judgment, delivered on 26 August 2026, sets out a long and tangled history of applications, appeals and renewed claims dating back to his arrival in Ireland in March 2022.
