The High Court has upheld the Government’s decision to remove four duck species from the Open Seasons Order, rejecting a challenge brought by John Butler and the National Association of Regional Game Councils.
Mr Justice Barr delivered the ruling. He found the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage acted lawfully in removing Pintail, Pochard, Scaup and Goldeneye from the list of birds that may be hunted in Ireland.
