Between former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s description of those opposed to men in women’s sports as “authoritarians” and current Taoiseach Micheál Martin’s hypocritical championing of “diversity of opinion” and “tough but respectful” debate, last week was full of absolute clangers from those at the top.
To focus on the latter today, Martin delivered a speech to open the West Cork History Festival which took place over the weekend August 7-9 and was a great success by all accounts.
