EU leaders are claiming that tighter controls on information spread via social media are needed in order to curb the bloc’s most recent migrant crisis in Ceuta.
Commission Vice President Henna Virkkunen claims to have met with big tech representatives over the weekend to discuss the issue, with Brussels linking the wave of migrants that hit the Spanish exclave of Ceuta to “misinformation” on social media.
