The European Union is to formally announce its intention to implement bans on children from accessing certain forms of social media in September, officials inside the bloc have confirmed.
Hinted at earlier this month, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is set to declare the style and extent of the restrictions during her so-called “state of the union” address following Brussels’ summer recess.
