Allowing uncontrolled access to the internet is equivalent to allowing “drink-driving”, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has claimed.
Speaking at a press conference launching a new Brussels report on “child safety online”, the EU leader insisted that bans on children accessing much of the internet needed to be put in place, alongside mandatory government-backed age verification systems.
