There “definitely will” be more fuel protests if the Government goes ahead with plans to restore excise duty on petrol and diesel, protest organiser James Geoghegan has warned, saying: “It feels as if I’m actually riding a horse and I’m pulling back the reins on the protest.”
In an exclusive interview with Gript on Monday, Geoghegan responded to reports that Coalition leaders are preparing to phase out the excise duty reductions introduced following April’s nationwide fuel protests. He said public frustration over the cost of living had continued to grow, adding that he did not know “how long I can pull them reins back for.”
