Sometimes you come across something on social media so outrageous, so bamboozling, so mystifying that all you can do is sit there agape. I came across one such photo this week on X, which showed assisted suicide and euthanasia advocate Philip Nitschke – a man invited before a Dáil Committee recently – showing off a grotesque DIY suicide collar that he’s dubbed the ‘Kairos Collar Mk#4”.
The picture shows ex-doctor Nitschke sitting behind a desk and gesticulating while an assistant stands beside him holding a mannequin head aloft with the homemade suicide collar clamped around its neck.
