Spare a thought and a prayer for Alison O’Connor, journalist at the Sunday Times and always invited on RTÉ. She was a guest on the paper review panel presented by Brendan O’Connor on Sunday. Also there was Niall Boylan (whose show I go on weekly and would call a friend and colleague.) Alison O’Connor had a few words to say to Boylan, whose show – she claimed – just wasn’t happy enough. O’Connor needed a safe space having listened to a few of Boylan’s shows. Pray4Alison.
O’Connor speaks excellent ‘passive aggressive.’ She laid the charges out. Niall wasn’t a harbinger of joy and the business model rests on making people – including O’Connor’s dog – justify their existence. The show deals with “the sour milk of human meanness” which I’d like to think she spent a fair bit of time thinking up because it is a good line. It is also untrue.
