Even by the reptilian standards of hypocrisy in which this column routinely indulges, what follows is humbug on a Nobel-prize winning scale. It is asking that others do not do what it is now about to do. I can do so simply because I am already doomed to an eternity in the flames of hell, so what matter if I provide further reasons? That ruled out the possibility of Trump ever saying to his secretary of state, “Things seem a a little quiet today, Marco, let’s start a nice little forever war in some God-forsaken hellhole so that every evening throughout the rest of my presidency the American people can see their sons and brothers, daughters and sisters coming home in body bags, all neatly wrapped in the stars-n-stripes in Globemaster-holds.”
