“This Urkin, the town rapist” are the immortal words of Kazakhstan’s premier journalist, Borat Sagdiyev, from the legendary comedy film, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
Borat delivers the line as he takes the viewer on a walking tour of his hometown, ‘Kusek’, which is apparently the equivalent of my hometown, Greystones, Co. Wicklow, as we too have a town rapist. At least we did until he was sentenced to 11 months in prison for failing to notify Gardaí of an address change.
