People are rightly finding something unusual about the frequency with which they’re being exposed to the HSE’s nationwide ‘You, Me and HIV’ campaign, given that traditionally, it’s a virus that affects a relatively small number of people in Ireland – that we know of, anyway.
Despite that, since January this year, it’s been on the TV, the radio, social media and elsewhere on repeat, not so much warning the population as reassuring them that as long as HIV is properly managed, there’s no need to fear that it’ll be passed on to a positive-person’s sexual partners.
