A Brazilian man is to go on trial next year in relation to the possession of a “realistic” looking firearm.
Marco Andrei Floriani, pleaded guilty to one count on the indictment that he, on the 13th of June 2024 at Hole in the Wall Road, Donaghmede, Dublin 13 was in possession of a “realistic imitation firearm”.
Floriani, who was supported by his partner in court, is to stand trial on count 3 of the indictment where he is charged that he, on the same date, pointed the said imitation firearm at a named individual as well as members of An Garda Síochána.
Oisin Clarke BL descried the contested count as “a very narrow issue” saying that the trial should take no more than two days.
The accused is to be tried at 10am on the 27th of October 2026 in Court 7 of the Circuit Criminal Court.
A Portuguese interpreter was present for the short hearing.
