Well folks it is time to get the Kleenex out and dry your eyes as terrible news has come our way: The big gay rights group in the UK Stonewall is to lose funding from the American tax-payer:
“Stonewall could be forced to cut up to half of its staff after President Trump’s decision to freeze foreign aid, The Times understands.
Workers at the LGBTQ+ charity were told on Thursday that restructuring would take place, and that only roles with dedicated funding would be safe. Simon Blake, the chief executive of Stonewall, made the announcement in an office-wide Teams call, which was said to have left its 114 staff “shellshocked”.
Sources said they believed up to half of the workforce could be made redundant in the move, which they were told would “secure the future of Stonewall for the long term as a significant LGBTQ+ organisation able to deliver impactful campaigns and legislative change across the UK and further afield”.
Insiders believed the announcement was linked to decisions made by Trump over the provision of foreign aid. Blake has previously warned of the impact Trump’s move would have on Stonewall’s operations.”
I suspect it will come as a surprise to voters in Nebraska, Iowa, the Dakotas, Wyoming and the rest that they have been funding Stonewall, the most irritating gay rights organisation in Britain, to put posters on London buses shouting at anyone who was interested, which was not many, that “Some people are Gay, Get Over It!”
No offence but I already knew you were gay as you listen to Elton John all day long, dress quite well, and say darling a lot. You really didn’t need to spend that much money on a poster to point out the obvious. But I’ve got news for you, some people are Trump voters, they voted to end the madness, so the slush fund that is USAID is coming to an end. Get over it.
“Funding from the US came to Stonewall through the Global Equality Fund (GEF), administered by the US state department, which has given the charity more than half a million pounds in the past three years. The GEF focuses on “advancing LGBTI rights around the world” and is a pooled fund with contributions from numerous countries and private businesses, but it has not published accounts since 2015.
In recent years the GEF has been Stonewall’s largest funder. Charity accounts show the GEF increased its funding for Stonewall year on year, handing over £137,254 in 2021-22, rising to rising to £204,442 in 2022-23 and reaching £233,583 in the most recent set of accounts.”
It really is unbelievable that the slush fund that is the US state department has been funding Stonewall to this degree. The gays are loaded – its own community should fund it if that’s what they want to do. It makes me think whoever bargained for the Irish DEI musical funding of $70,000 didn’t play hardball.
What this demonstrates once again however is how the progressive agenda is embedded everywhere and funded by ordinary voters who do not agree with its agenda. This is the point about elections; unless you have a Trump who is willing to do the necessary despite the howls from the liberal media, you are in serious danger of living in a world where elections do not count.
For two long conservative governments have been happy with victory at the ballot box, but only tinker or outright ignore the serious structural problems such as tax-payer funded NGOs pushing a woke agenda contrary to the interests of the tax-payer. I have seen cases where tax-payer funded NGOs sue the government if they dare take any measures that might control our borders and reduce illegal immigration. The government literally is funding the organisation that is suing the government. What nonsense is this?
You have a ridiculous position of voters voting for right-wing governments yet are forced to continue funding NGOs who push a woke agenda against the interests of the majority. That’s how we ended up with the family referendums, an expensive political virtue signalling exercise that nobody but the National Women’s Council and Justine McCarthy down at the Irish Times wanted.
Before that referendum was crushed you’d think Irish women were banging the door down to change the constitutional provisions, that this is what consumed them morning, noon and night. Instead it was the usual things that concerned them: paying the bills, getting to work, getting the children to school and preferably a school that didn’t fill their children’s heads with transgender nonsense that will also be pushed by some ‘charity’ or gay NGO that is funded by USAID or Gates or Soros.
Stonewall had huge influence in the UK; its Diversity Champions scheme was embedded in all the government departments, corporations, and many schools. Corporations would long for their ridiculous employer seal of approval so that all the gays out there would know the Foreign Office was gay friendly. I doubt there is an institution in the UK more friendly to the gays than that Foreign Office.
However, Stonewall has managed to lose the favour of many, (conservative Prime Ministers used to love sucking up to them) over their handling of the transgender mania. The lesbians did not take kindly to being told that they were in fact the bigots if they refused to sleep with men who were pretending to be women. There was a lot of disagreement as to what exactly the + in LGBTQ+ was referring to. I don’t know and I don’t want to know.
I don’t have a problem with the gays, but I do have a problem with The Gays, and by that I mean Big Gay. The NGOs and charities and rest that will prowl the human resource departments of every company, demanding you wear their rainbow lanyard to show that you are ‘an ally’ and subscribe to the agenda of Big Gay … or else. When this agenda included putting males on women’s sports teams and rapists in women’s prisons, unsurprisingly the feminist lesbians had a thing or two to say about that. When Big Gay no longer represents the gays we have a problem. Stonewall deserved to lose their funding years ago.
What we need is our own Trump to cut through the NGO funding with a chainsaw in Ireland. Until that happens we can only look across the Atlantic with longing.
