A man in his 20s sustained serious injuries during a broad daylight assault in Dublin city centre yesterday at around 2:20pm.
The victim was rushed to St. James’s Hospital with his injuries described as serious but not life threatening.
A Garda spokesperson said, “Gardaí at Pearse Street are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on Mercer Street, Dublin 2, on Tuesday, June 4,”.
“A male in his 20s was seriously injured during an incident in the Mercer Street area.”
“Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, and the male was subsequently taken to St. James’s Hospital. His injuries are described as serious but non-life-threatening.”
Investigating Gardaí have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward to aid them.
While no arrests have yet been made Gardaí say they are following a definite line of enquiry.
Road users travelling in the vicinity of Mercer Street at the time are requested to submit dash cam footage or any other video footage to aid in the investigation.
