Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has said the court ‘won’t be bullied’ by protestors over the leak of the draft Supreme Court decision regarding Roe versus Wade. Thomas told abortion rights protestors that they will not influence the final ruling on abortion, while warning that society has become ‘addicted to wanting particular outcomes’.
“[As a society], we are becoming addicted to wanting particular outcomes, not living with the outcomes we don’t like…We can’t be an institution that can be bullied into giving you just the outcomes you want. The events from earlier this week are a symptom of that,” Justice Clarence said, in reference to the protests that have taken place.
Thomas, one of the court’s most conservative members, was speaking just hours after militant pro-choice activists doxxed him and five other Supreme Court justices over their reported draft decision to turn abortion law-making over to Congress and state legislatures.
The leak, described as “absolutely appalling” by Chief Justice John Roberts, ignited aggressive protests across the US, with churches and pregnancy resource centres nationwide vandalised and trashed.

While the protests started at the steps of the Supreme Court and the U.S. Capitol last week, they moved to the Justices’ front doorsteps over the weekend.
The group ShutDownDC organised the controversial protests outside the homes of three of the Conservative Justices, with more expected to follow. Over the weekend, roughly 100 people gathered outside the homes of Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh – adding to the atmosphere of rising threats against Judges nationwide.
Following the protests outside the homes of the Supreme Court Justices, the Senate is quickly moving to pass a bill to extend security to the justices’ family members. Last week, legislation was introduced to formally allow the Supreme Court of the United States Police to provide 24-hour protection to family members. As some congressional and executive officials receive.
Senator John Coryn, one of those who introduced the legislation, said it was necessary “given the ongoing threat posed to some of the Court’s justices and their families.’ Coryn said that following the leak, the families of the justices are “unfortunately facing threats to their safety in today’s increasingly polarized political climate,” adding that the justices and their families are “protected from those who wish to cause them harm.”
Condemning the violence, pro-life non-profit Live Action described the activists committing violence as ‘unhinged’ and said some of their actions amounted to ‘domestic terrorism’.
“Is this the America we want to live in? Where we commit and champion violence against children? Where we attack centers that provide diapers and formula to struggling moms? Where we cheer on the deaths of babies? The world will be much safer, peaceful and just for all Americans once abortion is illegal,” the group wrote, sharing footage of some of the damage caused to pro-life pregnancy centres by protestors.

Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson said that an attack on Christianity also underpinned some of the protests from the pro-abortion side.
“This isn’t just about intimidating Supreme Court Justices, 5 of them, into changing their views on Roe v. Wade. It’s about attacking Christianity, because Christianity stands in their way,” he said.
His comments came as pro-Roe protestors protested Catholic Churches on Sunday, which was Mother’s Day in the US. Taking to Twitter on Monday, one priest in the state of Texas appealed for prayers and information after the Church’s tabernacle was stolen.
“We don’t know who did it but police are investigating. Please pray for us and for those who committed this criminal sacrilege,” Fr Christopher Plant wrote.
